Also, what type of server? (specs, and chasis size)? If you're just looking to buy it, you're probably better off making friends with someone who makes their own servers (as i've looked at a lot of "premade" ones and they're about 2x more expensive then the parts they put into them i find. roly 03-10-2002, 08:57 PM Tera-Byte co-location [ http://www.tera-byte.com ] fractiousws 03-10-2002, 09:07 PM Thanks! MattG 03-10-2002, 09:15 PM Dell Small business, has a very attractive deal for it's small business division. $250 rebate 0% interest lease for 24 months Which makes a entry level server like the one below 1u server PIII 850 IDE = $698 after rebate ($598 for celeron) Get the details at http://slickdeals.net Good luck:) ebo 03-10-2002, 10:06 PM Best place I've seen, for prices and quality in one package is http://www.online-spectrum.com/ Good luck porcupine 03-10-2002, 10:09 PM they've got good pricing on the lower end servers, but i found their high end servers were pretty pricey =\ ebo 03-10-2002, 10:14 PM Hmm, well I just purchased a 1U Dual Intel Pentium III 1000 MHz /1GB. ECC Ram Two 18Gb. SCSI 160 10,000rpm Hard Drives, Tyan Thunder board, ethernet card for $2500 with shipping. Which seems like a good deal to me, especially with the reliability they bring. Maybe $2500 isn't big for you though, you high roller you :D porcupine 03-10-2002, 10:19 PM Heh, if that was directed at me, im saying 2500 is big, im by far no "high-roller". I guess when i price servers out and see what i can throw them together for, puchasing pre-setup ones just seems really expensive when it can be done for 1/2 the price :D ebo 03-10-2002, 10:21 PM Well that's true :) They can always be built cheaper. But when your adding a new one every month or so, like us, it gets a little time consuming :) phpjames 03-11-2002, 03:20 AM Try Ebay! They have some nice ones on there and sometimes you can get a new one for cheap. Also checkout awega.com. The guy is nice and builds quality systems.
