Hi I just installed RedHat 7.1 (workstation package with KDE and Gnome) on my home PC and was wondering why it's not showing... aren't these the desktop GUIs ?
I only get the login prompt, how do I bring up the graphical part?
Thanks...

During setup, you were probably given an option to start with a graphical login, sounds like you didn't select it. However, it's easy enough to fix.
Just log in from the command line, then type "gdm", "kdm" or "xdm" (the three different display managers, Red Hat uses gdm by default, so try that).
To set it up to start with one of these rather than the command line, type "setup" and then choose to configure X. You'll be asked about using a graphical login sometime during that.

If you want to save defaults use switchdesk.
For example, if you want to use gnome:
switchdesk gnome
or KDE?
switchdesk kde
or something else
switchdesk whatever
