the are just trying to make an event where there name can be shown so that more and more people can become aware of *****.
This is comon practice among big companies, they do charity, social work, community work etc., this is also called as brand building and public relations.
If you ever wanna make your hosting company big like ***** then you gotta learn all this stuff.

Yeah. At one place, we actually gave free networking classes, to bring system admins in, so that they'd buy our network appliance software, and sent them all home with the free version.
It worked out pretty good. I was teaching the classes at night, and we'd have a sales person accompany me. He'd charm them and give them free stuff.
A lot of networking of the social kind was going on.
It got the company a lot of advertising, because the classes were written up in the paper.
We eventually started billing for the classes. They paid us money to let us advertise to them. Can't get better than that.
Plus it guaranteed that our customers actually had a clue about networking, as long as they were paying attention.
