Hi, I programmed a very simple order/client management script, and was wondering if anyone would be interested in it. This script is not made for larger hosting companies, this would be best for Resellers more than any other, I think.

Here is what it does:

1.) A Client Orders using the Order Script, when they go through the process, and click the order button, the information is sent to a MySQL database, where the admin script can allow you to neatly view the information. It will also send the client his account information with the click of a button! It also shows you stats of your information! How many clients are on which plan, how much your income is, etc. You can also search your clients serveral ways.

These demos are not password protected! However, I will add that feature, and also on the main page there will be a feature to edit client information.

I am not trying to get rich off of this script, and I know it is not worth much at all. However, I think it does make things a little easier, and maybe some resellers would be interested in it. Do you think I could get $15 or $20 for it?

Well I just took a look at your script, and while your admin area looks ok, I think that you should change your order script as it appears to be a blatant copy of Modernbill. It looks the same, has the same information and layout is identical. This is not very professional imho, and this appears to be a case of copyright infringement.

The order script is the same one that ModernBill uses! I new it looked a like, however with the information that came with it, I figured it was legal. I was wrong, I have talked with them on the phone, and the guy that programed the script for them, has been giving it out, so that is how we got it. I am taking it down as I speak! I will program an order form, to do the same thing, however it will be different! I am still looking for anyone who wants to buy a copy of the admin script, I have the rights to it, and they have no problem with it.

Agreed. I think you just gave yourself a bad reputation my friend. By playing dumb you're just making it worse. Everyone knows that it's not legal to take someone elses script and claim it as your own.

If I'm wright the order form is made by Vortech so it's copyright protected by them and not Moderbill.

Yes, Vortech has the rights, and they gave ModernBill exclusive rights to use it.

Here is a direct quote:

It was gave to me by a partner, that got it from the programmer that Vortech hired.

I will not go into anymore detail, if ModernBill or Vortech feel like posting some more information they can do it. I do not want to get tangled up in something like this...I hope they will post something.

You are 1/2 right there..

We had a programer from this forum make it for us. When we did we thought we had full rights to the script. The programer did not have time to finish the script to how we needed it. So we had it some what finished up for our needs. About 2 months latter ModernBill came out. So to save our self a lot of time and work we gave the script ( Free and Clear to ModernBill to use in there system ) this made our script complet.

As we did think at this time we had full rights to the script we did give it to Modern Bill ( For Free to make work with there system ) also to be able to give it to all the other hosts for free in there system. We did not mind in any way as we thought it was help every one out.

Well the programer asked us about this and we talked. We never had any thing signed between us and we thought from our ICQ chats we did have rights to the script. As the programer never did finish what he had been asked to do and ended up with just the signup script and not the full system this is when we had it re-done and then worked with ModernBill to help get the script to where we wanted.


P.S. I don't mind any one using the script for them self really but not selling it. As my understanding the programer the would give his ver. away for free and we did not mind this one bit as it was not a bad script. But it did not meet our needs all the way then again having to pay more to fix this script. This one no one has but ModernBill and I only have and is not released to any one.
We never mind any real money from the script that we paid for we also gave it to Modern Bill for FREE and gave them rights to use the script.

*I did not put the programers name in this post as we have talked about this in the past and is behind us as far as i know. He is a great programer just no time. :( If he would like to talk with me again he knows my ICQ or can post here as well.*

I am not or never was selling your script. I am selling the adimarea scripts that we disigned. We did some minor modifications to your script to make it submit the information to the database, but that was it. I was just giving your script away with ours, as an order form to submit to the database. I am not even trying to make any money off of my script, I am just try to make back what I paid someone else to help me with.

I am not sure by your post if this is ok or not. Please, let me know! I am very sorry about this...

Your script is nice but not very professional. If I don't fill in my address, I just get an error to fill out all fields.

I always write scripts where the original form will be shown with some sort of hint (like "please enter your Name here" or "your e-mail contains invalid characters").

So I would not pay anything for your script because I don't think a professional host would use it for their customers.

If you will look back through the above posts you will see that we did not write the order form, that is a free script from the same guy that programmed it for Vortech and ModernBill. We simply modified it a litle, so that it would submit the information to a database, that is it! Our script is on the backend and your clients will never see it so it should not a be a big deal about the design of it. You can use any order form you want as logn as it will submit information into a table.
