Thanks very much joshuayip 04-07-2005, 09:59 AM Yes, Jodohost has this. Joshua RandomLittleHost 04-07-2005, 10:28 AM www.diyhosting.com gershom 04-07-2005, 12:15 PM www.hostingonnet.com - but having said that I have no experience with them, they just happen to be a recommendation ashokuh 04-07-2005, 12:19 PM i also prefer jodohosting.com relio.com matrixreseller.com Shaw Networks 04-07-2005, 12:20 PM I believe HostDime offers both Linux and Windows as well. iGabe 04-07-2005, 12:35 PM You may want to search for hosts with the "H-Sphere" reseller control panel. Many H-Sphere hosts have both Windows and Linux servers in their server clusters, which enables resellers to simply click a button choosing which OS their customer should be on(i.e. "•Windows plan", "•Unix plan"). However, it is worth noting that there are many other non-hsphere companies offering custom solutions like Plesk and cPanel(just an example) together in plans. Although I don't know first hand, I would assume they just give you two logins, one for each CP. cheezyal 04-07-2005, 01:01 PM thanks every 1 for all replies. very helpful. just looking cos a lot of hosts offer both. so thought that it wud be an advantage to do the same. but do many people actually use/require windows hosting? not sure wether its worth offering it now??!! With Jodahost also, it offers a VPS included too. So wud i be right in assuming that with Jodahost, that its 3 seperate servers with different Ips? And if so, that wud be an advantage cos cud host a status page on different server in case of a server downtime. Thanks again every1, great forum!!! iGabe 04-07-2005, 06:10 PM Originally posted by iGabe However, it is worth noting that there are many other non-hsphere companies offering custom solutions like Plesk and cPanel(just an example) together in plans. I wrote this vaguely because couldn't think of anyone specifically. Just now I remembered that www.unifiednet.net offers this in their combo plans in case you haven't narrowed down to a decision yet. cartika-andrew 04-07-2005, 06:57 PM but do many people actually use/require windows hosting? not sure wether its worth offering it now??!! I can say that it will probably be worth it. I know our resellers were pretty happy when we added dual platform support. Its always nice to have the option. For us, we lost 1 too many sales because we didnt have this option and decided it was finally "time" :) Yash-JH 04-07-2005, 08:37 PM Originally posted by cheezyal With Jodahost also, it offers a VPS included too. It means that there would be 3 different platforms which you could sell hosting on. Yes. each platform would be supported on its own server. The only thing I'd like to add is that there isn't one but many servers under a certain platform (such as Windows) so two of your win accounts can be hosted on two different windows servers. And we are JodoHost, not JodaHost :) cheezyal 04-08-2005, 07:16 AM Originally posted by Yash-JH It means that there would be 3 different platforms which you could sell hosting on. And we are JodoHost, not JodaHost :) Sorry mate, jodoHost!! lol ;) So, are the accounts automatically assigned to different servers, or do i have to choose? This sounds good, so if a server does go down, then not all accounts will be affected. Is this the same for linux as well? If so, what if a server did go down, is it possible to transfer accounts to different server? sorry bout all the questions, maybe I shud have asked them in ur support forum, sorry:confused: Thanks for everybodys help. JodoHost certainly looks good to me!! Yash-JH 04-08-2005, 07:26 AM No, we keep on adding new servers every month. Your account would go to the newest server in that group (Windows, Linux or VPS)... So your accounts over time get scaled over many servers, not one server like traditional reseller hosting. Additionally, services are clustered. That means your site may be hosted on a Windows or Linux web server, but your database would be hosted on a different MSSQL or MySQL database server. Email & DNS are also hosted on separate servers. This gives higher overall reliability. If a web server goes down, you could continue to access your email and database as well as the control panel. We can move specific accounts to a different server within a certain group upon request, but there must be a genuine need for that. ldcdc 04-08-2005, 09:03 AM sorry bout all the questions, maybe I shud have asked them in ur support forum, sorryIt would indeed be better to contact Jodohost via their site. It should ensure faster answers as well as I'm sure they don't spend their entire day on WHT. ;) Lakpura 04-12-2005, 10:28 AM i strongely recomend matrixreseller - i have have over 200 accounts and about 700+ domains hosted there. great prices and great support! |
