Hi,
I wish to install apt on Raq2. Which would be the best way to do this?
I've tried downloading the source RPM and compiling it from there, but the thing is, I think the version of RPM that I have installed is too old.
Also, when I look for RPM's to install on the Raq, what arch should I be looking for?
Thanks in advance.

Which OS are you running at the RaQ2?
Just the RaQ2 OS?

Hi.
The OS is: Cobalt OS Release 4.0

Hmm, the only way to use apt (to (automated) install/update packages) is te install Debian on your RaQ.
The OS what is installed right now (custom Cobalt/Sun RedHat) doesn't support "apt".
If you decide to install Debian on it you will lose your GUI. Here is a link to a how-to document: http://www.cyrius.com/debian/cobalt/sarge.html

Ah right!
You know anywhere I can get any RPM's or packages that are Raq specific? I have found a few, but only things for SSH support and that.
I'll have a go at installing Debian when I have a bit more time on my hands.
Thanks in advance.

Hmm, the big problem of the RaQ1 and RaQ2 is that they are based on a MIPS processor and the packages and sofware at the moment only supports i386 or higher processors.
When you install Debian on a MIPS based machine you can allmost run everything! :-)
And you can use apt-get to install every package you like...
