My host uses paysystems.com for recurrent billing of my account (every three months).

The latest attempt to extract funds from my account has failed (my bank verifies that no requests have been received though) and I suppose I am facing site closure as a result of non-payment.

The support person at paysystems has been extremely helpful but I still don't have a solution. If the host payment interface does not function, what would be the best approach to take with the host insofar as arranging payment is concerned?

Have you contacted your host to discuss alternative payment options? Most likely they would be willing to take payment via postal mail or even use PayPal so you can stay on a recurring billing cycle.

Have you checked out 2checkout.com?

A host should be able to accept check and money order by mail.

We had this happen once with no explanation from them. In the end we just had the client sign up the account again using his normal details, and cancelled out the old plan. It seemed to work as he says he's being billed, and his account at our end is up to date. Seems to be some glitch that shows up once in a blue moon.

More than a blue moon I'm afraid. We can't trust them to take care of the recurring billing so we have to double check that they don't miss anything.

Thanks for the info. I'm in New Zealand so sending a cheque - or some other manual system - wont work unfortunately.

I have mailed the host with the request - as above - to essentially re-create my account and to take it from there.

Hope I don't have to do this every three months :bawling:

I was at 2checkout.com . The cost is very expensive considering 5.5% from each transaction will be deducted, in addtion to the 0.45 cent trans fee. Anybody knows any other alternative ?

Paysystems is 3.5% and $1 per transaction if I remember rightly, so that might not be much of an alternative. It's not too bad if you're charging a decent amount (we use it for web development too so it evens out).

Hmm, IBill perhaps? Haven't used them myself.

hows 2checkout expensive? If my maths serves me correct

for e.g a $10 sale

5.5% = aproximatly 50c, + the 45c transaction fee

for every $10 transaction you make $9

seems reasonable to me. I would suspect most hosts would be charging around the $10/month on average plans
