Ok, I have done a bunch of searching but have not found that much info. I want a script where I can create a template and then just enter the articles. Two great examples are:

http://www.sunherald.com/mld/sunherald/11303119.htm
http://www.insurancejournal.com/news/national/2005/04/04/53264.htm

What systems do you think these sites use??

My search on WHT, returned:
CuteNews from cutephp.net, but it doesn't have any sites in action so hard to say exactly how it will work/look.

ArticleManager from InteractiveTools, this one looks like a great solution but I can't spend $299 on this project.

Is there any lower price solutions/free, I was just going to make a template in html and then copy and paste article, but if it is successfull it would be too much work to make changes all the time.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!

If you want something simple and nice, use CuteNews < very easy and good script for small sites or for some bigger once aswell.. ! :)

PS: try to search cutenews on google or "cutenews demo" you might find something.. ! :)

I used PROPS once for a small community newpaper. It was easy to administate and use easy for the client.

Thanks guys, I am still finding out if either cutenews or props creates to .html files. Props says it does on their site, but I don't see it in any of their examples.

Thanks again guys, will see if one of these will work

Purple Butterfly,

Please read my last post, it does not output to .html files.

Any others?

AJ-Fork http://ajfork.berlios.de is a much better version of CuteNews.
A 'site showcase' can be found in their forums http://ajfork.berlios.de/forum/

"AJ-Fork. Lightweight, flexible and powerful publishing tool. Forked off Cutenews 1.3.1 in 2003, and in active development since then (minus one years worth of military service). Aims to have a pretty but functional interface, output XHTML Strict compliant code, and has a plugin architecture similar (though not yet as extensive) to Wordpress."

As far as I know, props could generate static pages like this:

hcn,

thanks for the link, I will install props now.

Couldn't get friendly URLs to work with either cutenews or ajfork.
