After being hit hard by worthless hosting twice now and being a college student just trying to get passed.
I'm looking for a dedicated host that isn't going to break the bank or have down time...
I'm running some high useage sites and would like to run a client server on the server.

Well you've got two big no-no's in one sentance.
You want cheap and you want guaranteed uptime. Guaranteed uptime means multi-homed. Multi-homed means expensive bandwidth.
My suggestion is determine which is more important, uptime or price and go that route. Remember that someone offer multi-homed, say cogent and sprintlink isn't as good as someone offering multi-homed Level 3 and UUNET.
Some questions to answer:
1) How much bandwidth do you use now?
2) Do you want multi or single homed?
3) What is your budget?
4) Where are you at now?

What kind of "client server" do you mean?
And what OS do you need for the kind of server software you want to run?
Oh... and who were your worthless hosts? How did they 'burn' you (i.e., what irks the hell out of you?) WHT is a good place to share good and bad experiences alike. Helps other people get good deals, and not get burned.

Hello,
I'm currently in Michigan.
I have no clue on how much bandwidth I use.
My budget is around 200 or under a month.
I have my own server just need a place to park it.
Don't know what homed is.
:)
I don't like burning companys cause it wasn't their fault they couldn't meet the needs I needed such has subdomains and multiple passwords and usernames.
I'm currently with www.alphanine.com, they are wonderful but their support is slow, I've never had any down time and yet they are 'unlimited', I don't hold it against them.
