Hi,

I did register a domain for someone in this person's name. His domain is hosted elsewhere. Now he has violated copyrights of a third party and the third party is complaining. I wonder if I am legally required to delete the domain or change the nameservers so it does not resolve anymore.

Note:
- Am not registered as the owner of the domain... I did only register it in the clients name and charged the customer for the registration

- The domain is not hosted on my servery but pointing to another hosting company's servers.

Do I have to do anything as the person who administrates the domain registration ??

Honestly, I think not. The WEBHOST is the one responsible for the content of the domain, also you are NOT the webhost as you mearly registered his/her domain as they paid you. I would advise you never to change a client's nameservers or delete their domain for that matter, as that will result in a mad client and you'd possibly be breaking some laws yourself in the process of doing so... My best bet is to either email them, telling them that you are mearly the registrar and NOT the webhost, then tell them to contact the webhost so they can handle the issue.
