Howdy All,

I am on the hunt for a reseller that would allow me to create accounts that have a cpanel for subdomains (subdomain.domain.com) as well as the top level domain (domain.com) right now where I am at, I am allowed to create accounts for only top level domains (domain.com) with the cpanel. I cannot create any for any subdomains.

I know its possible to do somewhere, I found a website that offers the same kind of services I would like (free hosting for bloggers or those who want small personal websites) but the server service they have is in a foriegn country.

So these are the top few things I need in this reseller.

Cpanels for not only upper level domains (domain.com) but cpanels for subdomains as well (subdomain.domain.com, subdomain2.domain.com, etc)

Unlimited add on domains so that I can alot them out to my resellers and myself
Unlimited subdomains, unlimited emails, unlimited ftp accounts, etc.

Anyone have any clue where I can find web hosting reseller services that can help me out? I am in the United States, so I would need to have one that provide services to me :)

Sincerely, Vikkie

Vikkie,

If you setup an FTP user for the subdomain, and login as the ftp user into cpanel (username@site.com) you should be able to use cpanel for that particular subdomain, or if you have access to WHM you can create accounts as subdomains.

Best Regards

I do have access to the WHM, I tried to add accounts for the sub domains, but it would not allow me, I emailed support and they said they do not support that. That I can only create accounts (that have the cpanel included) for the top level domain (domain.com) but not for subdomains.

Thats not right. Many of our clients create sub-domain CPanel accounts and no one has ever experienced problems, I would contact their support department again and double check.

That is so weird. I think I may, I don't know what to say though. I don't know the technicalities of the server. I attempted to set up the cpanel for the subdomains but I got an error. So I think if I can't find host that gives me as much as they do for the same price then I will try to contact them again.

Anyone know of any hosting services that fit what I am asking for? (specifically had experience with this, or know for sure?)

Try to login using WHM, then try creating an account using a subdomain (try using test.website.com) copy and paste what it tells you here, maybe someone can help you.

okay. I actually received a message just now from my server, and they told me that the previous email they had send me was a mistake, that it is possible, so I did tell them the error I am receiving, so I think this will be figured out! I guess I won't have to go anywhere, which I am so glad because I love my host SO much. I don't want to have to leave, yay ;)

Most hosts will have no problem to let you do that. As far as I know creating subdomain acounts using cpanel/whm is enabled by default.

Anyway, before switching hosts ask them again if you cannot create an account in WHM using a subdomain.

EDIT: Problem was solved, just an inoccent mistake...

Good to hear you got that figured out, I don't believe it's possible for hosts to not allow the creation of subdomain accounts when the creation of full domain name accounts is enabled.
