DWood 03-07-2002, 11:11 PM www.bluecityhosts.net I feel like I owe them something because of the amazing support. Even installed my bulletin board. UmBillyCord 03-07-2002, 11:25 PM I'm looking for a new host and support is very high on my priority list. Who here has been with their host for awhile and is very happy with support? If you are happy, who's your host? I know DWood and someone else new here always post about these guys, however since you pointed out "for awhile" I would assume it would be longer then 2 weeks? Since BCH is so new, I really do not think they have a track record to prove long term quality of service, although I am not saying they are not good. If you want proven support, I would check out Pair Networks. Years of great support and a huge dedicated following. Off topic, DWood I noticed your domain name was just set up with BCH on 2/24. Don't you think 2 weeks is too soon to feel like you must "owe them something" like advertising? Just curious. DWood 03-07-2002, 11:30 PM billy, you have a point but i get a response in minutes to everything. plus they helped me with my login script, setting up my forum, setting up a java message board, and all this other stuff. They have spent hours helping me. Usually if a host has good service from the start they will have good service. Most people who are trying to cheat you or be lazy start off that way. Every host has to be small before it can be big, I don't see why not give them a chance. Every host has to be small before it can be big, I don't see why not give them a chance. I disagree. I don't know how many times I have seen host start out withthe owner working 20 hours a day online helping the few customers they have. After time, many either fail, grow too fast and don't compensate, or they fade away ( I don't think I have to name some recent ones). A host less then 2 months into things really doesn't have a track record to prove long term great support as was asked in the thread. I wish these guys luck. With the owner and a few others like you pushing them so heavy on these boards then maybe they will develop a track record that is all positive. We all start somewhere. DWood 03-07-2002, 11:39 PM maybe after having champion host i just feel spoiled WoodiE55 03-08-2002, 12:17 AM I use Web Hosting Products (http://www.getwhp.com/) for my e-commerce site, and so far they have been the most helpful company i have delt with. They offer TRUE 24x7 tech support via Phone, Chat, ticket, and email. These guys have helped me set up Miva, and other things i had not a clue about. In all honesty, this is by far the best hosting company i have came in contact with thus far!!! http://www.getwhp.com WoodiE teck 03-08-2002, 12:17 AM From my experiences, Ventures Online had superior support. Check out their forums and search the forums here for more information. sjau 03-08-2002, 02:41 AM I have my site since late 2000 at worldzonepro.com . I kinda like the support on their boards and that family-like atmosphere among the members and support stuff that are very active there ( www.worldzonesupport.com ). You may want to have a read there, see how things are running, what problems there are, how support is offered... TheMMIz 03-08-2002, 11:56 AM I too use VenturesOnline, and you just cant beat their support. -Edward- 03-08-2002, 12:39 PM Hi, I've been using http://www.kdawebservices.com for 15 months now. Karl & Dean have been nothing short of outstanding. Both always willing to help even with the smallest problems. Karl even helps me manage my RAQ at tera-byte if he's not busy. Dean was excellent with money problems i had over christmas. They answer there emails fast and you can always find one of them on ICQ. Yahoo or MSN it's trully a class outfit you would be hard pushed to find better. Sunny 03-12-2002, 09:44 AM Following up here, thanks everyone for their recommendations for a host with good support. As it turns out, I didn't go with any of them :) But in the course of investigating your suggestions I saw references to Site5 and investigated them as well. They have an all-around very good reputation and one of their plans was exactly what I was looking for, so I decided to go with them. So far the transition has gone incredibly smooth...so smooth I haven't needed to use support yet! thanks again :) nvphone 03-12-2002, 10:58 AM Originally posted by sjau I have my site since late 2000 at worldzonepro.com . Please note that I have no $$$ invested with this service. thomas1 03-12-2002, 11:17 AM Ventures Online, unbeatable. Dreamhost.Com. These NewDream people(s) rock! Yea, they are expensive, but of the 4 (around 4, give or take three months?) years I was with them, I never had ONE problem! I can't even remember once that they were down without at least a weeks notification. Maybe I was living in a fantasy world, er something... But, they are also very nice, fast and very helpful even when they didn't need to be helping. I just figured they were bored! If you have a few extra $$$ to spend, I HIGHLY recommend them! Sure, here it is: http://www.site5.com/community code_renegade 03-13-2002, 10:35 AM I'll push for alwayswebhosting.com - emails never go unanswered for any longer than 6 hours, but most of the time, I get answers within 2 hours :) Of course, getting answers is nothing when they aren't relevant or helpful, but as far as I can tell you, Ronnie's answers have been personal, professional and easy to follow ;) Oh, and he had done countless free installs of a PHP program for me - I think all the installations that he had done must have taken up around 10 hours of his time (probably a lot more than this...). Not only that, he walked me through a lot of the stuff with regards to hosting. Give them a shot - you'll love the service :D raj4800 03-19-2002, 06:14 PM Yes, no one can beat venturesonline's support....they have amazing support...the max response time they took in our case is 10min at any time.... Ventures online is too good in support, service and moreoever network too... thepop 03-20-2002, 03:20 PM I have been with www.cahostnet.com (http://www.cahostnet.com) since last August. Support has been prompt and thorough. They even take time to answer my stupid newbie type questions. |
