Hi,

as far as I know .ca domains available only for canadian citizens and companies. Could anybody recommend registrar with kind of "domains by proxy" feature for reselling domains to non-canadian customers?

You may negotiate a deal with just anybody to let you use THEIR .ca domains, but the Canadian presence requirements clearly state that the REGISTRANT must meet those conditions. So legally speaking, you are on a very shaking ground. Even those domain by proxy things do NOT waive anything, unless you are willing to give up your "ownership" (kind of). If this is for business, I wouldn't waste my time and money on something that I can't even get a hold onto; if it's for fun, there are a lot of options, right?

cira.ca will not hesitate to delete the name should you fail to meet the registration criteria

Depending on what the site is you can probably find someone who will buy the domain and point it for you for a fee. I can't see that being against cira policy but the problem is you wouldn't be the owner and therefore if the real owner decides to screw you over you have no chance.

Does anybody know what sort of checks they carry out? If you give them a Canadian address do they check that you actually live there - as opposed to just visiting once or twice a year?

So I thought about a canadian registrar who would actually own
a domain but sign with a customer kind of contract or
proxy statement.
