The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, or ICANN, on Monday gave an update on its selection of an operator for the .net Internet domain. ICANN said final scoring of an evaluator's report pointed to a "slight advantage" for VeriSign over Sentan, which was followed by Afilias, Denic and CORE++.
ICANN said it will enter negotiations with the top-ranked applicant to "reach a mutually acceptable registry agreement."
