Hello all

I'v been reading up alot laely about search engine optimization, intresting topic and not everyone is aware of, however, while searching for companies/firms that offer such a service, I found them to offer almost the same thing but with a wide range in price differece.
Some start at $50 and goes up to $10,000 iam wondering if anyone has more info in thsi regard, perhaps some personal experience.

it is a bit like web hosting.

Someone can offer a server for £50, others for £1000.

Chances are, the £1000 one is much better. I assume that this is the same with SEO firms.

SEO is a tricky game to play... I know of SEO companies charging well in excess of $10,000/month yet still can't really do what they say.

They just supplement the traffic with PPC and the end user is often none-the-wiser.

I'd suggest doing some real in-depth research on any potential SEO company, hang out on seochat.com etc and ask a few questions before you dive in and lash out some $$.

Yeah I guess your right, I even found a company charging arounf $50.000 for their service, research is vital especially that there are lots of scams going around.

Greetings,

I have an acquintance who does SEO for a living and he often tells me that his clients ask him what's the difference between a SEO expert for $1,000/mo and one for $10,000/mo.

Now, there are several factors involved. First of all, the price tends to go up when you're working with a company, as they have to pay for their offices, managers, executives, etc., in addition to paying the people that work on your account.

Second of all, as you probably understand, there are no secrets in SEO. The difference between somebody that's good and somebody that's just OK is the amount of time and experience they have with this. Those that do it for a living actually make it a point to stay on top of everything that's going on in the industry every single day, so they are aware of the latest updates, changes, etc.

Another important aspect in SEO is actually the scarcest one - time. The more time, a person can dedicate to optimization of your site (assuming that he has the knowledge), the better results he can usually achieve.

And finally - the price depends on the industry and the keywords you want to optimize for. "great web hosting in alaska" will cost a whole lot less than "cheap web hosting".

Do your research, find out if the company/expert has released any articles on SEO, and see if they participate in any online forums (many actually do) and offer free advice to other members. My personal recommendations are http://seo-guy.com and http://sembooster.com

Best of luck!

Boris
