I have a domain that i don't use or plan to use anytime soon the problem is that it was parked on a friends server and now he's leaving it at the end of this month and i had submitted this domain to a few search engines and got it listed somehow, i can't find a free domain host without ads.

I want to leave this domain up because any traffic it gets i send to my other site i don't think a free DNS pointer or whatever you call them would work because the main page has to stay for that domain or else i think it will fall out of the search engines over time........it gets 300 hits a day maybe it's not worth the trouble but I'll take any free hits i can get!

Mike, check freewebspace.net (and read the forums), you should be able to find something.

Assuming I interpret the problem correctly, then the DNS pointer will work. All you need to do is have it point to the main page of your site. See, when your page is listed with the search engines, it's generally spidered and indexed automatically based on the content. So as long as it points to the original page that it had before, then you're okay.

As far as a redirect service, the only one I've found (and I don't think it's that good, but it's free :D) is called Domain Redirect. The URL is http://www.domainredirect.com. Warning: this is not an automatic process by any means, so it could take anywhere from a few days to a month. Be thee well and truly warned. :)
