Hi there, I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good host to me.

I'm looking for something that offers around 200MB of space, at least 3GB of bandwidth and allows for multiple FTP accounts and subdomains. I'm willing to pay up £200 or the US equivalent.

I'm currently at Webfusion, which I am very happy with, but the don't offer mutiple FTP accounts, hence the need to look elsewhere.

Any help you could give would be greatly appricated.

Thanks,

Emma

Yo what does the ?00 stands for?
Provided the currency sign was substuted by the '?', it would means it is free hosting....;-)

Anyway for that kind of bandwidth and webspace you should be prepared for around $10 / month .

LOL, it looks fine on my computer. But I know that the British pound sign does funny things on computers.

But anyway, what it should have said was that I'm willing to pay up to two hundred pounds a year for this hosting, as it's what I pay already. :)

You might want to give some details about your requirements.
That will make it easier to give suggestions.

- OS/Web server requirements
- Scripting requirements
etc....

you'll also get better results in the request forum.

Hi Emma,

Do you want to be hosted on a Windows or Linux platform?
Are you dependent on a particular scripting language or object(s)?

This is information that would make it easier for people here to give you recommendations.

I'm not sure. Does it really make a diffrence. I think the only things I'd really need would be Perl and CGI. I don't really do anthing to complicated on my sites, so I really don't need anything super special.

Hi Emmamarie,

I suggest you take a look at www.tera-byte.com , whom I highly recommend based on past experience. Note that it`s been a while (1 year) since I last hosted with them, as a former webmaster, so you might want to do a search on this forum for more up to date reviews.

I have also heard good things about serve-you.net and site5.com on this forum, so you can do a search on them too.

A good idea would be to make a list of 5-6 candidates, do a seperate search for each of them here at WHT, and try to make a decision based on the results.
