Just got the following email regarding the Funky Frog transition to ResellerPeak .com (which I guess is completed now): Hi,

My name is Matt Leibner, and I'm the Operations Manager for The MainArea Network, parent company of ResellerPeak .com. As you are already aware, ResellerPeak .com has acquired the shared and reseller customers of Funky Frog Hosting. The MainArea Network has been providing hosting services since 2001, and currently focuses on dedicated servers and reseller hosting.

In order to make the transition as painless as possible, we have set up a specific email address to get in touch with our sales and support staff specifically regarding the transition - <web address> . Please register for our helpdesk at <web address> , and submit tickets to the "FFH Transition" department. Once registered, any tickets that you submit via email or the helpdesk system will be placed under your username so that you may track your own tickets easier as well. This will ensure that your ticket is handled by the proper staff members. Our ClientExec billing system will be online shortly, and you will see few changes in the billing system interface and monthly invoices. The only exception to this is clients paying by 2CheckOut. We will be sending a separate email with instructions on how we will deal with direct credit card payments, since we have our own merchant account to process Visa, Mastercard, and Discover cards.

For now, we will be keeping the server in Texas, and will not be transferring clients to our other servers. You do not have to do anything at this time! We have already done software upgrades and security hardening If you wish to be transferred from the Texas server to one of our New Jersey servers (Located at the InterServer.net datacenter), you may open a support ticket requesting so. At this time, we do not have SiteBuilder, RVSkin, or CPanel XP on our NJ server, though. Your packages and price plans will also stay the same, regardless of which server you are on. On another note, we will no longer be offering additional sub-reseller accounts due to recent fraud issues, as well as compatibility issues.

Please feel free to email us at <web address> if you have any questions, support issues, or if you'd just like to introduce yourself! My team and I look forward to working with you.

Thanks,

Matt Leibner

<web address>Does anybody have any opinions on Reseller Peak or Main Area? I originally got an email from Funky Frog regarding this last week or so, but I'm guessing that this means that the ownership transfer is complete, and we're now dealing with Reseller Peak for everything.

Thanks!

P.S. This no URL thing is annoying!

From what I've read about Reseller Peak, you'll be fine with them. Have you given them a search here yet?

There seems to be no information about Reseller Peak here.

As Matt stated on his email, MainArea Network is the parent company of Reseller Peak. As far as I know, they are using the same techs, that would be great.

They're using The Planet out of Dallas, Tx for their datacenter it seems so you're in nice hands there. ;)

Well I am absolutely fit to be tied!!!

I leased a dedicated server from Angela at Funky Frog Hosting, and it turns out SHE DID NOT PAY HER BILLS last month at Layered Tech. Layered Tech pulled the plug on all of her servers today which also incidentally pulled our server offline...

Took 90+ minutes to get the billing transferred over and our box plugged back in. But on top of it, not only do I owe for April 20-May 20, but I also owe for last month because Angela didn't pay her bills due. The only way I could get the server plugged back in was to agree to pay for the 2 months. Which is entirely fair and I do not fault LT a single bit. In fact I wish to commend them (especially Carla in Billing) for their fast help in getting the billing switched over and the server plugged back in. Layered Tech was super-helpful. :)

Although getting soaked for the $125 is not the end of the world, I am still ticked off at having clearly gotten scammed. I've recommended Angela's service to people and now was flat-*** left high and dry. GRRRRR!!!!

We received no warning that this was coming -- that Angela was going out of business -- nor that our server bill hadn't been paid. Angela collected my $125 last month and skipped off with it.

BEWARE ANY TRANSACTIONS WITH ANGELA ROCK. I hate to post that here, but I have left e-mails and voice mails and none have been returned and I still am out $125 cash. (Yes, I will be filing a complaint with Paypal)

Very unhappy... (And now that I'm on blood pressure medication, it takes a lot to yank my chain!)

:D Bailey

:D Bailey I would like to clarify that ResellerPeak.com has nothing to do with the situation that you are describing. We did not purchase FunkyFrog Hosting's dedicated server clients, nor did we purchase the FunkyFrog Hosting name/website. To our knowledge, Angela was keeping the FFH name and website to continue selling servers from, and did not offer to sell the dedicated clients at any time. All previous FunkyFrog Hosting shared and reseller clients are currently online at this time.

Thanks,
Josh

Yuppers, and Reseller Peak has done an awesome job. I'm just terribly sorry about what happened with your server - but 'tis true, Angela didnt sell the deds :( The going out of biz thing was done in a bit of a haphazard oddball way. I had to call Angela at home one day because I was having problems with my hosting and heard her yelling in the background that she wasn't responsible for me anymore. Well, since she'd never told me WHO WAS I was more than a bit po'd by that. She finally gave me Matt (at ResellerPeak's) contact info and I have been one happy contented customer ever since - RP is wonderful :) I'm actually really glad for the sale. Service is better - I've had zero downtime since they took over. You don't even want to see the problems I had before that :( My customers are happier too and I've actually made profits this month that I havent seen in a while because of the service interruption refunds I had to give :(

Anyhoo, my point was, sorry about your server - I completely understand your frustrations there!! But just wanted to help RP clarify that they unfortunately didn't get that part of the biz :(
