I am curious... What are the webhost packages that sell the best? (ie: options, space, etc..)

Its not really always the "size" that matters... Im my plans I do not offer outragous space and 50 gigs bandwidth etc. But I do value the customers I have and treat them as if there my only customer. I try to get answer all support calls within 2 hours and help and even get my hands dirty when I need too.. Now Joe Host down the street offers 60 gigs of space and 600 gigs for 16.9 9 a year BUT support calls take two weeks to answer and if you can even get one and chances are they wont be around 6 months down the road.. In reality space is NOT everything. Web pages are very small even with graphics and the chance of using 500 megs for your web pages is very unlikley. I think down the road people will realize its not the size of your account its the response time to work on your support issue or inquiry that matters.. just imho..

Its sometime selling to much bandwidth and space is a quick way to get someone to sign up for good prices ( Already stated)

But have good customer support and even if your prices stay the same were others get cheaper and cheaper... chances are they will stick to you for longer!

Uptime comes side by side in this topic, cause you are providing a service as long as you provide it with support, people would be willing to offer that extra buck for a GOOD DEAL!

Good luck, remember that customers talk, make them happy and they can make you happy too!

Good luck

In the short term, many people choose a web hosting plan because of incredible features at low prices (and live to regret it). However, in the long term I think that support and uptime are the most important factors.

The fact is that if your host takes more than a couple of hours to respond to support requests on average, how long are you going to stay with them? Even if you don't need support often, it is always nice to know that if you do, you can rely on a friendly, prompt response! :)

Low priced ie entry level hosting packages sell the best for us. People don't want to pay for things they don't need or understand.

Actually our low to medium plans tend to sell the best. The mini gets it's fair share of signups, but for the most part it's the three plans above that that are our bread and butter. Commerce and Professional Plans sell, but nowhere near the levels of the others.
