Hey :bawling:

I'm afraid my domain name at ev1servers was just stolen... somehow

i just traded that domain with a guy...

first thing i did when i entered the account is that i changed the password that he gave me
but then i thought ev1 might send the new pass to the admin email (since it was still his)
so i went and changed that email
and i rechanged the password

i can remember logging in into that account again

now i cant log in... incorrect password

i say send pass to admin... nothing reaches me... i go to whois and i see his email!!

i dont understand... i'm pretty sure i changed the email address

plus firefox saves my passwords and when i put the username, it automatically put the password... so it should have worked

i tried several passwords that i usually use and none worked

i just emailed the guy asking if he knows what happened and that my pass was just sent to his email.... i didnt get a reply yet

this is terrible... i need that domain VERY MUCH :bawling:

what can i do???????

There are only two explanations:

- Either you made a mistake over your login

- Or you've become the victim of a crook

If it's the latter then I hope you have kept copies of all relevant correspondence. You may well need the help of a lawyer and/or the police.

Not really.

And when you said you didn't get a reply from the seller, what kind of time frame are we talking about? 1 day? 1 week or 1 month? This is a long weekend, and people might be away.

Hello

I just realized that today at midnight and i emailed him, i didnt get a reply yet... its only 10 am. i know its not a long time of course i wasnt expecting a reply within that time frame

the thing is, the trade was built on trust, he handed me over the account at ev1servers and i gave him an account at namecheap that had a domain he wanted

it will be nearly impossible to follow the guy because he lives in egypt!

:(

Well okay

he gave me back the details... he said he wanted to prove that he was able to get it back if he wanted to!! :S

anyway... i dont care if he is crazy or not now... i'm trying to transfer those domains to namecheap ASAP... i started the transfer.. but i didnt get any email from namecheap yet. it says: Qeued for Submission

how long does it take to send me the email so i can confirm??

Now that is not good. I wonder if the account login he gave you at EV1Servers.net (i.e. Tucows/OpenSRS) is only a sub-account. If that is so, you'll need to transfer it out ASAP.

oh .... i see... thats really not good if it's so

but i have access to admin contacts and stuff.. i wonder if sub accounts can have that power too??

i'm still waiting for namecheap... this is really stressful people :(

Sub-user accounts *could* have access to Admin Contact; it depends on how it was set up in the first place. But you can tell by going to the "Profile" tab (first one on left navigation), and see if you have the option to "Create/Manage a Sub-User".

Yea i have that option. this means i have the main account

i guess when he handed me over the account, he quickly went and said that password be sent to admin.. before i changed the admin email... i should have changed the admin email first.

anyway the transfer was initiated and awaiting approval.
