View Full Version : where to transfer domain: godaddy or namecheap?
lanas 03-26-2005, 07:26 AM Hello,
can't decide where to transfer my domain from register.com: godaddy or namecheap? Your suggestions would be very helpful.
Thanks.
Bashar 03-26-2005, 07:33 AM both are good if you are in the states.
if you want to compare the pricing namecheap is cheaper than godaddy
if you want to compare whois bigger and ICANN accredited godaddy is and namecheap isn't
search the forums and read other people horror and success stories each customer had his own experience with every company out there.
Good luck choosing what is BEST for you not The Best.
because as SoftWareRevue always say:
There is no best XXXXX, there is the Best XXXXX for YOU
replace XXXXX by registrar, webhost, provider, wife, girlfriend anything ;)
lanas 03-26-2005, 08:12 AM No, I am not in the States, I am in Europe. Would be good to hear about their email support: who answers faster? E-mail support speed is very important to me.

Why don't you try it yourself. Sending an e-mail costs you nothing, right? If people don't even respond to pre-sales support quick enough, then you know how good they are with post-sales. ;)
NameCheap is the best Registrar for me, but that is my suggestion only :)
Project X 03-26-2005, 10:07 PM please, use namecheap!
Disgruntled 03-27-2005, 01:34 AM I have domains with both Namecheap and Godaddy. They're both fine for me. Namecheap has a slight advantage in charging less for privacy protection. Since I am in the U.S.A. my only use of cusomer service has been Godaddy by telephone, and that has been good. I think it was a good point that you should check the responsiveness of email support if you want to use their sevice from Europe.
superprogram 03-27-2005, 03:04 AM Yes, namecheap support is far better than godaddy
Mikey this way! 03-27-2005, 04:44 AM I use both Godaddy & Namecheap. Am satisfied with both. Namecheap is reputed (they are eNom resellers) & there are many diehards here. ;)
Godaddy is TOTAL NIGHTMARE. Stay away from them!
RuNuEn 03-27-2005, 09:22 PM GoDaddy BLOWS! Go with NameCheap, Very nice and fast response.
MidHost Staff 03-28-2005, 12:08 AM godaddy with better domain management option :D
Mikey this way! 03-28-2005, 01:15 AM Both are nice. I don't know about support response time as haven't had to use of either of them. But, GoDaddy interface is very heavy & slow. Interface wise, I have started to like Namecheap. Its fast.
JSpired 03-28-2005, 02:11 AM Hopefully you've picked a registrar by now, but if not, I'd suggest NameCheap. Hate to chime in and repeat all that's been said already, but I couldn't agree more with all the above that's been stated. I moved away from GoDaddy two years ago now due to problems with support. Ever since, NameCheap has been nothing but top-notch!
lanas 03-28-2005, 04:29 AM No, I've not picked yet- am waiting for more responses here :)
Bashar 03-28-2005, 07:33 AM there is other options if you want, unless you need one of those only
lanas 03-28-2005, 08:33 AM Bashar, can you tell some of them? Registerfly?
Bill-zilonhost 03-28-2005, 09:08 AM We have used namecheap for 6 years without a single problem.

exactly :)
Disgruntled 03-28-2005, 05:33 PM Although I am not enthusiastic about Registerfly, they do have tech support via livechat and trouble tickets, so you would have some good alternatives to telephone support.

This is a big plus for them, having chat, email, ticket and 24/7 chat for support. Most companies only offer email support.
