Hello All,

I was wondering about the following:

1- I see some companies selling email hosting, my question is: how do they limit the hosting package to only service email services, like for example, not allowing users to upload files to their hosting space and things like that? Also, how can they limit the maximum attachment file size? And be notified when email size in the mail box exceeds a specific amount of MBs ?
2- How can you set the size of MySql database? I see people saying: you have 30 MBs of MySql database?!!
3- How can you set a shared SSL? And offer it to your members?
4- Do you recommend any good SSL providers? So that I can establish a Shared SSL for my members, plus, Resell dedicated SSL certificates! I’ve been searching for a SSL provider who offers reseller capabilities, but I never found one!

I know I asked so many things, I would really appreciate your help

Regaring email-only plans, it depends on the control panel you use, and scripts associated with it. We use H-Sphere, which makes this very easy to set up. The same is true for the MySQL database limits. In H-Sphere, you simply create each plan and set a max DB size. After the user reaches that size, they are charged whatever overage fee you set for that plan. For SSL, you can't go wrong with GeoTrust certs. Check out FreeSSL.com for more information on the various certs available. There are many other SSL offerings as well, so you can shop around, but GeoTrust certs tend to cost much less than others. If you want to be a reseller, check out FreeSSL.com for sure.

Thanks for your reply Dennis.

I currently use WHM and cPanel! isnt there a way to do the size management using cpanel?

Thanks,

For only email hosting in whm you would have to go to Modify an Account underneath the Account Functions tab and then choose what domain you want to modify. Then in the Theme option choose xmail

But how can I limit the Attachment size? and monitor who's exceeding the limits?

And what about the size of MySql database? how can I manage to limit it?

Thanks a zillion

It wont use an Database for mail hosting.

Attachment size will be the mailbox size.
