Just curious if anyone has any experience where a host directory extremely increased their sales. I'm looking to invest some money in advertising, and wanted opinions. Thanks! :)

I hear hostsearch.com is pretty good, it's also one of the most expensive though :)

I can't personally give a detailed review of the results you will get, but their pricing is very competetive.

I think it's hard to predict the returns from one specific hosting directory. It's something like PPC search engines - everybody knows that AdWords and Overture delivery quality traffic, while Enhance and Kanoodle are usually pretty iffy. However, does that mean that every advertiser gets a great ROI on Overture and AdWords? Not likely.

The big directories are usually quite expensive and I can't imagine them bringing too many direct customers, as your ad simply gets lost among a myriad of other ads.

It might have some effect, in terms of branding, but if you're on a tight budget, I'm afraid branding won't help you.

Now, the good part is that hostsearch.com, webhostdir.com, webhostingmall.com, ispcheck.com, etc. all offer PPC programs. Those, in my opinion, are very cost-effective and are definitely worth a try.
