Client wants public AwStats, so that no passwords etc. asked to see his website's AwStats page.

Is there any easy, fast & secure method of doing this?

I don't want to disable self-updating from everyone etc. and generally wouldn't want to touch the configuration files at all, for the possibility that cPanel might not understand the options or something like that.
Less touching manually, means saner config for automated systems imo :)

If nobody has a nice 'glue' for this, then i guess i gotta knife a bit those configs manually...

I've done this before with Webalizer, but can't imagine it would be much different.

All I had to do, was create an alias for the /username/tmp/webalizer folder within the /public_html/ folder and it worked.

This was awhile ago, so I'm not terribly sure if cPanel is still able to do this.

That guides in installing AWStats, no probs there lol.

What i wanted is WITHOUT installing another instance of awstats, to use the stats page generated for the client in cpanel to be public.
I could install another instance, and make it so that it does not ever generate etc... Hmmph... Perhaps but still...
Not the best method probably. Easiest yes.

VanHost's method does not work for AwStats.

take a look at

www josheli com/vox/view_source.php?awstats.php (cant post urls yet!!!)

it works but the only problem is that you have to have the username / pw / domain in the php file.

hope that helps
