Deb Suran 12-16-2000, 09:33 AM It's no gag -- I rely on the fact that visited links on bulletin boards change color, so I can see which pages I've read of multi-page posts, and which older discussions I've been following. I find the fact that new and visited links are now the same color makes following discussions here much more difficult. Yes, I could change my settings in Netscape to over-ride the colors on all the websites I visit, but why should I do so just for this one website? I'd rather see Matt change the settings here. Racin' Rob 12-16-2000, 03:17 PM It's a netscape problem. I had similar problems with my board. I had to change the < body > to use the link, and vlink attributes. Netscape is the culpret though, my suggestion is the trash it. ;) Chicken 12-16-2000, 05:53 PM Originally posted by Racin' Rob Netscape is the culpret though, my suggestion is the trash it. ;) That always goes over about as well as telling MAC people to dump their machine and buy a PC :) etLux 12-16-2000, 05:56 PM Wow. Are there still people who use Netscape? Racin' Rob 12-16-2000, 06:08 PM Originally posted by Chicken That always goes over about as well as telling MAC people to dump their machine and buy a PC :) What's a MAC? I thought the only MAC in the computer world was the was the lower sublayer of the Data Link Layer in the OSI model. And of course, a very tasty apple. :D etLux 12-16-2000, 06:25 PM Wow. Are there people who still use Mac's? Chicken 12-16-2000, 06:39 PM *slaps knee* I don't think so. etLux 12-16-2000, 06:51 PM Wow. Are there people who still use Mac's? Wow. Are there people who still use Netscape? I felt like I'd been transported through some sort of time warp, here, Chicken... whisked back to an era now years gone by, when there still were such things as Mac's and Netscape. Then I figured out what was going on. I have to compliment WHT on a *great* gag like this -- pulling up old posts from 1995 and showing them here. Bravo! BC 12-16-2000, 08:29 PM LOL! Deb, which version of Netsheet... errr.. Netscape? (sorry) I'll follow it up and see what we can do. ODE 12-17-2000, 03:44 AM Originally posted by etLux Wow. Are there people who still use Mac's? Hey now. I 'm one of those MAC users (using IE5) I don't have to keep upgrading to the latest processor, for the simple reason that the MAC processor is maxed out at 500mghz . I've got a dual 500 BTW. Now I'm not your typical MAC user though user since I am Microsoft certified (MCSE) and do beta testing for MS. Now I like my MAC because I don't have to think when I'm using it. (Ignorance is Bliss) Now you know when you go to sit down with your PC you don't get any work done because you are always tweaking it which leads to the blue screen of death then trouble shooting which leads to 2 am then fdisk then reinstall then restore then you start the process all over again. etLux 12-17-2000, 03:49 AM Originally posted by ODE I like my MAC because I don't have to think. Absolutely. Deb Suran 12-17-2000, 10:07 AM Netscape Communicator 4.7. Thanks. Spider John 12-17-2000, 12:05 PM Not that it really bothers me or anything, but they don't change colour in IE 5.5. Mind you there's a very simple way around this. That's to go through the threads in the order that they are listed on the board, rather than jumping from thread to thread. And as far as MACs go, I conducted a live interview with none other than James Hetfield of Metallica and this is what he had to say... "Macintosh...BAD! Interweb...BAD!...GOOD!" Such infallible logic. BC 12-19-2000, 07:02 PM Deb : it seems MattF has changed the links around now - is it any better? (dark blue signifies an unvisited link; the lighter aqua-blue signifies a visited link) Spider John 12-19-2000, 09:08 PM Dammit, where's my green and pink? Green and pink are the only two colours that should EVER be used on a website. :) Seriously, I like the new aqua blue colour. It's purdy. Yes, it is, thanks. Although I wouldn't have chosen two shades of the same color... ;-) etLux 12-20-2000, 08:35 AM Originally posted by Spider John Dammit, where's my green and pink? I hear WHT is going to be done entirely in these colors, next rev. Chicken 12-20-2000, 10:42 AM So we should hold back on the pink and purple polka-dot version that I designed (due out next week)??? etLux 12-20-2000, 03:52 PM Go fer it, Chicken... |
