My first experience with severon.com.sg was looking into this section , trying to find out some more information about VPS's. I just started a hosting company, if you can call 2 reseller packages and hopefully a vps one, lol.
Anyhow I saw JETVPS tell someone to IM him at SeveronSG on AOL . I decided to IM and find out more about the offer. The offer was pretty good, 35 dollars a month,no setup for 20/200.
I asked how long it would take to set up, he told me within 3 hours. Long story short I paypal'ed him the money last night about 2am. This morning at work I checked my inbox and saw nothing else, no information about how to login, no reason for not being up, nothing.

when I took a lunchbreak at 3pm I saw SeveronSG online, I instant messaged him and asked what was wrong. The reply was "server problems" and then he either blocked me or immediatly logged off after responding to me. Within 30 minutes I got a paypal email saying my money had been returned. Well good thing paypal emails you or I would have been in the dark totally. I dont know how their service is , but that experience didnt leave a good taste in my mouth.

I know the search button, and I could also "search" google. But I want to hear from some pros. What are some SOLID hosting companies. I have went through registerfly (when I needed shared hosting) and have never seen anything in my life like them. It seems that quality is few and far in between in the hosting game.

I need a VPS solution for 50 or under, with smart, thoughtful service. Please help

If you are looking for a solid vps plan with solid support then any of the following will treat you very well.

Servint.com
liquidweb.com
powervps.com

I always refer these 3 companies because of my experience in dealing with them. You will be very satisfied with whomever you choose here.

I really appreciate it. Ot question, If i have a dedicated server, or VPS can I call myself a hosting company , and not be a liar?

Just want to do this right, but start small and grow with customer base.

Yes,
You can call yourself a hosting company. Alot of startup hosts don't even have a vps but only a reseller account. It is a good way to learn the ropes and slowly grow and move up to a dedicated plan as your client base or resource needs grow.

The only way your going to be a liar is if someone asks you about what kind of servers or any other questions about your company and you fabricate a story to make yourself out to be something your not. Be honest and you will be successfull because if someone really wants to find out what your all about, they can and they will. Then once you are caught in a lie, word will spead quickly and your reputation will be tarnished. I have seen this happen to many a startup host.:)

Yes. Yesterday there is a problem... However, I immediately refunded him after I realised it take too long to set up the VPS.

This part is true. He did give back the money as promised.

Since, well last night I signed up for PowerVPS. Within one hour an english speaking, english accentet man call, very polite to make sure everything was in order (I thought, is you sure you are a hosting company!?), within 2 hours the vps was set up and I was in and "playing around".

I am not a poweruser yet, all I can base this on is how fast and polite they were. And it has been only a day. But so far I am very happy.

ps- and yes I am biased. It is just must shortcoming in life, I guess registerfly tomas and darrel's "you go check now" and "server down, admin coming soon" have tainted me.
Oh and the best, when yer in command line pinging every other host you have and then the site that they have hosted and getting no packets back and they are telling you "works just fine over here"

You have every right as a human to choose to spend your money with whoever you want to and if you enjoy the luxury of understanding what your admin has to say well I understand that completely. It is not racial or judgemental act on your part.

If you are dealing with the public then i think it is your obligation as a business owner to make sure that your employees can communicate with your client base properly and sadly, this is becoming more and more hard to find because of all of the outsourcing of support going on.

This is only my opinion but I know for a fact that it is an opinion that is shared and expressed at least among my clients.

Thanks for the recommendation. Looking back at my post I sound like a non-english speaking person myself "Is you sure..."

You know how early morning-half-awake-posts are.
I have been toying with the VPS in between meetings at work, amazing. I am very happy, again WCWS thanks for the recommendation.
