I am looking for a new host for a messageboard.

Problem seems to be, whenever I find a host that will allow enough bandwidth, either the price is outta the range I want to pay for a hobby site, or the service/performance is horrible.

What I need is somewhere that will give me at least 25GB a month, for $35 or less.

I have already been with Xeran and now with Tera-Byte. Tera-Byte for less than a week, and I am already looking to move.

Anyone have any suggestions? I know I am probably looking for something that doesn't exist. :P

have you looked into getting a reseller account(might not be enough bandwidth though), or perhaps a virtual dedicated server from somewhere like remarkablehosting.com.......I think they start somewhere around 35/month........

Your problem is quality bandwidth generally costs $US3/gb and cheaper bandwidth atleast $US1/gb Therefore I reccomend limiting the amount of bandwidth you use. Sometimes you can do this easily by cutting the size and numbers of graphics on your site or by use zend optimizer or mod_gzip on a php bulletin board. You could also try a less bandwidth intensive message board like vbulletin.

get rid of avatars, don't allow images in signatures, try reducing images sizes as much as possible. 5 kb per page would cut down a ton each month if you get lots of hits (which you either do or have some huge files).

Try hosting4less.com . I'm a customer with them and am very happy. Their developer plan offers 25gb for 25.00/month I think. -Ves
