Hello,

In regards to dedicated servers.. are hosts who are offering the dedicated servers able to log into the system themselves? or, do they have to have a password also? If they wanted to install a software upgrade, would they have to request a password from me? I ask this as there are new ISP's popping up every day (and dying), how do I know I can trust them? What if I had valuable proprietary information/databases on the server? could I be sure that the host could not start peeping around? Is it impossible for them to enter the server? (without hacking)

thanks.

If you change the root password without telling the host, they will need to request it from you to work on the server. I think it's best to go with someone you feel you can trust, and tell them whenever you change the password so they can help you without asking everytime.
