I saw a post on slashdot.org about how this company will put a fiber line to your house for $800 a month flat fee. I can't remember who, but they looked really promising. The only thing is you would have to buy a $1600 router, which shouldn't be a problem if you can cough up the $800 every month.

do you remeber where on slashdot you saw that? I'll go ahead and ask them about that too.

It was on the main postings, just search slashdot.org for "fiber" in the last three months, i will also see if i can find it.

At that price, why, *everyone* could have a T1... after all, it isn't that much more than, say, what AOL should be up to in a year or so, right?
