Hi All,
4 days ago I changed my nameservers to point to my new host.
Now, when I do a WHOIS on my domain name, it returns the correct nameservers etc. but it tells me my domains are still being hosted on my old host, rather than pointing to my new host.
Just wondering if this is common, and how do I go about fixing it. Is this a problem, or am I worrying over nothing?
I e-mailed Namecheap (where I get my domains) and they didn't seem very interested in the problem.

How can the whois:
a) returns the correct nameservers etc.
AND
b) tells [you your] domains are still being hosted on [your] old host
AT THE SAME TIME?

Perhaps you may want to cut and paste the "whois" info here (esp. nameservers info portion) if that is not too sensitive. ;)

This is the REAL whois:
Domain Name: HOSTMYFORUMS.COM
Registrar: ENOM, INC.
Whois Server: whois.enom.com
Referral URL: http://www.enom.com
Name Server: DNS3.SONATAWEB.NET
Name Server: DNS4.SONATAWEB.NET
Status: REGISTRAR-LOCK
Updated Date: 14-mar-2005
Creation Date: 26-feb-2004
Expiration Date: 26-feb-2006
>>> Last update of whois database: Fri, 18 Mar 2005 09:34:44 EST <<<
Source: http://registrar.verisign-grs.com/cgi-bin/whois?whois_nic=hostmyforums.com&type=domain
By the way, I still don't understand why so many people use whois.sc as authoritative. ;)

I know the basic WHOIS info is correct, but that doesn't explain why it is still showing my old host. I have used other WHOIS sites, and they return the same thing.

whois.sc has some time lag. I use it a lot, but for recent whois changes, I use 000domains.com whois.

There is only 2 authoritative whois, 1 from the registry (which STILL only updates twice a day), and the other from respective registrar (eNom in this case):

always use dnsreport.com dnsstuff.com checkdns.net dnscheck.com for checking dns stuff related including whois which is real time whois not cached likewhois.sc
