View Full Version : WHAT NON-US (available for the Philippines) E-Commerce Solution Should I Use?
hyssop 03-18-2005, 03:57 AM HI,
Am new. I am building an online store for a small biz in the Philippines. What REPUTABLE 3PP should I get (or Merchant Account)?
I have little capital and expect less than a hundred transaction a month of may $100 total. i am willing to pay less than a $100.00 one-time setup fee and would like only per transaction/sale based fees and low-cost wire transfer or direct deposit to my account in any Philippine-based Bank. No Statement and monthly fees. Would like to accept all major credit cards, and paypal too.
Please give me the SPECIFIC PROVIDER that you recommend.
Thanks a bunch.
boeki 03-18-2005, 10:37 AM for the amount you wish to dish out, you could try 2checkout.com.

I think there's a whole bunch of them out there. There's CCavenue, ikobo, etc which would do the job as well.
websites4u2day 03-20-2005, 05:05 PM Check out Third Party Processing (http://www.comparemaps.com/merchant_account/third_party/) to see if they might be able to support your country.
Cash&Sol 03-20-2005, 07:01 PM You can also obtain a direct EU merchant account.
Cash&Sol 03-20-2005, 07:03 PM Also welcome to the forum Hyssop.
Shaw Networks 03-20-2005, 10:23 PM I second 2CO, we've used them for years and have accepted payments from around the globe without any problems. Their fraud review staff is on the ball, and their fees aren't too bad.
hyssop 03-23-2005, 12:06 AM Thanks for the info. And thanks for the welcome. =)
Another question.. with my current setup, is there a way for me to receive paypal payments...like, can I have a friend sign up for a paypal account and I use it in my online store?
The Engineer 03-23-2005, 02:54 PM I live in the UK but am moving to the Philippines next month. I was thinking of opening an account with 2CO. I opened a ticket with 2co asking if there would be a problem with different IP addresses, (UK and Philippines) so far no answer.
Re Paypal, I think you may have a problem there, as the Philippines is not on the list of approved countries.
Jeffreyw 03-26-2005, 03:17 AM You can try www.stormpay.com , but i dont have any transactions with them yet.
ibrahim25 03-26-2005, 05:30 PM I never joined them but check paysat.com
no sign up fee
0.39$ per sale
5.3% of sale amount
sturmdogg 06-08-2005, 02:30 AM Any updates on your merchant account search? Which provider did you end up with?
Petertje 06-08-2005, 03:21 AM Hey,
the best option could be for you to deal with CNP Worldwide , it's an american very experienced processor which is set up with an acquiring bank in Philippines.

Sidorino 06-08-2005, 05:06 PM Paypal doesn't work with Philippines, and why do you need it? If you sign up with good third party what for d'you need PayPal?
hyssop 06-09-2005, 03:48 AM I am now signing up with 2CO since my main market will be those from outside the Philippines. Though there are negative feedbacks, at this point, i am willing to take the risk with them.
I've also considered ccnow but the monthly fee will kill an internet startup retail biz.
There are rumors though that paypal will also setup shop in the Philippines soon. I hope this comes true coz i am looking at the international market.
I've considered paysat too but it has no track record yet and am still wary of it.
If anybody knows of a good 3PP with minimal signup fee, no monthly fee for statement, report, gateway, etc, and a reasonable percentage fee off the price, please post it here.
Last question, can I have a friend in the US signup for a paypal account and use it as my payment receiving facility?
banker 06-10-2005, 05:06 AM Paypal will pick up on your foreign ISP and perhaps freeze your account.

They're actually using a Philippine-based call center, even though
they're denying Philippine-based users to register.
eapple 06-15-2005, 02:32 AM paypal and i2checkout are the best choice
berlin 06-16-2005, 07:01 AM Why don't you try payplus? they accept visa, mastercard, and even plain local atm cards.

As far as I know they only accept local ATM cards.
hyssop 06-16-2005, 07:30 PM I've considered payplus and the other local bank providers (union bank, pci, rcbc) but their fees are quite costly. I'm just starting and am still groping for form so to speak.
i wish paypal or something like it will work in the philippines. i've checked most local entreprenuer/small biz forum and looked around for 3pp but so far, zilch.
sturmdogg 06-16-2005, 11:43 PM hyssop, how's 2checkout working out for you?
hyssop 06-17-2005, 04:59 AM no sales yet. haven't put up the store as i'm still studying the details of the store. at least, i don't have to pay a monthly fee, though i paid a one-time $49 fee.
How about you, any experience you can share? I am assuming your from the philippines too.
sturmdogg 06-17-2005, 07:39 AM havent tried any of them yet...i'm interested in paysat but i'm still waiting a couple of months for the user feedback to come out before i decide
berlin 06-18-2005, 04:42 PM Google will be competing with paypal in the next quarter or so. Let's hope they will include Philippines. just announced today 6/19/05
If Payplus only accepts ATM, isn't that a good thing. For the market in Phils, that's even better since not everybody owns a credit card, especially the students who are my main target.
