View Full Version : HTTPme: Yet another company that doesn't reply pre-sale emails

I was disappointed with HartHat Hosting, but HTTPme is also not responding to pre-sale e-mails. I have sent 3 e-mails since last week, and nothing.

Am I the only one to who this is happening?

Are you putting a subject in the email? Many companies have spam filters that will block emails with no subject line.

auriance have you tried sending from an alternate email maybe your mail is getting blocked by them or your email is blocking their replies.

Just that you've had two companies not reply to pre sales emails thought maybe it's on your end.

Does HTTPMe even have a PreSales email address? As far I as know, HTTPMe doesn't do anything by email only, rather everything is handled through their helpdesk or on the forum.

Maybe, but for HartHat Hosting, I sent it through a form on their web site, and protected by a "text-in-image" key.

If they block potential customers because their e-mails are marked as spam, it's pretty sad actually, IMHO.

Here in the company we don't use spam filters for this reason, and our email addresses publically available on our web sites are protected by javascripts to prevent spam to the maximum.

Customers are vital for a company, we can't block them just because they send email from a blacklisted IP address.

Are you sure your email is working right? Maybe they are replying and aren't getting through to you...

Maybe, but I receive e-mails everyday fine...
Perhaps it is a problem related to spam filtering, but it is from their part probably because I receive emails from Apollo Hosting and Hostgator without problems...
I also receive the e-mails from WebHostingTalk to alert about new replies in the forum just fine.

auriance,

I'll chase up why you didn't receive a response. Apologies for this. :o

That's happened with our company a bit, the dedicated server we host our website at was recently listed in an obscure spam list (reason unknown to us, only our website is on the server), that does not allow a way to be unlisted. Every now and then, we have to make replies via an alternative SMTP server.

Probably you should ask the ppl in the forum. I think they have a huge forum, who can answer you most of the questions on pre sales =) . Imagine your customers helping you with pre sales ... that is such a wonderful feeling.

Simple. Look elsewhere.

I'm with HTTPme right now. They were great when I first started with them but have consistently gown down hill in terms of quality and service. Lately I've been given the run around.

They just bought BlueWho and quality and service has gotten even worse in the past week since they did. They have definitely bitten off more than they can chew.

I really don't want to leave because I think they genuinely want to provide good service but I'm reaching the end of my rope. If things don't improve greatly over the next month I'll be looking for another reseller host. :bawling:

Have you voiced those concerns to us? Please feel free to email me (nick@httpme.com) or open a ticket...we can't fix what we're not aware of, and I'm quite certain the problems you are experiencing are not something that most are experiencing.

Bluewho has it's own staff - so while we of course are working with them during the migration, we're also making sure HTTPme does not suffer.

If it was so bad, their forums would have at least more then a few "you suck" threads going. After a quick browse, I can't see any at all....

To me, it doesn't seem appropriate to publicly slam your webhost without even voicing your concern to them first and letting them know you're unhappy with them. Web hosting companies provide servers, not mind reading.

BTW - I'm assuming you have a thread in their forum somewhere that voices your displeasure? If so, can you point us to where it is? I'd be interested to see what was the httpme response to your situation.

I see tickets every once in a while that say they've sent us tickets and we haven't responded. When looking into why, its all for various reasons. Filters, Blacklisting, Our help desk just had an oppsie, or we had an oppsie ourselfs by manual mistake, or many othe reasons.

This kind of thing does happen from time to time for a number of reasons. Fact that it's happened to you twice could be a case of bad luck perhaps? Either way, try another e-mail or support line to see if there is a way to get e-mails through.

Or he could just post his question into their public pre-sales forum.

Yeah he could, but would if there is a problem with his email? Than with his support Q's and other problems, go post it on the forums? Plus if the company is having problems with emails, it be nice to have somebody work with you to fix the issue. Atleast I would want to fix any issues we had with our help desk or emails, if it was us and not the pre-customer or customer. We have a presales forums too, but I do not tell my customers to post there if they can't email us. If they want to email us, our email better be working. If they want to post in our forums, our forums better be working too.
