I don't understand why they have their own WHOIS database and screw the knowledge of nameservers up which have been registered with another host :-/ Wish things were jus simple serve-you 03-04-2002, 03:05 PM NSI controls the CNO (.com, .net, .org)registry. So no, they are not just another registrar. I think they are truely just incompetent. -Dan thewitt 03-04-2002, 03:17 PM It's actually uglier than that. Verisign controls the registry. Verisign owns NetSol (along with other properties). Verisign claims that they don't give any preferential treatment to NetSol... yeah right. Every other registrar on the planet can handle nameservers from other registrars, but NetSol seems to have problems with even the simpliest of changes. They are certainly in the top-10 of the companies that I don't deal with except under extreme duress. -t mdrussell 03-04-2002, 03:39 PM A lot of it's due to reluctance / bad competitance (they do everything they possibly can to make other competitors look bad), but half, maybe even more of the people they employ have a distinct lack of knowledge.
