i am checking out a hosting company who's hosting is run off via networks servers...
are via networks supposed to be good/reliable??

They rely heavily on peering for moving traffic. I am not sure how reliable the transit over their network is, but I certainly would not consider the fact that a host use VIA as a strong selling point, especially if it is their only provider.
