i am checking out a hosting company who's hosting is run off via networks servers...

are via networks supposed to be good/reliable??

Their backbone is relatively small at OC3, with few nodes on it, and not a lot of redundancy (of course it is still better than my backbone :D). They rely heavily on peering for moving traffic.

I am not sure how reliable the transit over their network is, but I certainly would not consider the fact that a host use VIA as a strong selling point, especially if it is their only provider.
