I know "do not use paypal".

But my users are asking and I want to add it as a backup payment solution.

I only have a PayPal "personal account".

Will this work to receive payments on my website? Or do I need a "business account"?

Somebody knows and can help me?

Thanks

Why shouldn't you use PayPal?

What is keeping you from upgrading your PayPal personal account to a business account?

Thanks for your message.

I do not believe in spending money if I do not have to.

Somehow I get the feeling that I can use a PayPal personal account.

I find many times that if I ask a few questions before spending the money then I can avoid spending the money. :)

No offense.

Just curious. And cheap I guess...

How's about Premier account? At least you can make use of the API to accept payment? Things like PayPal Shopping Cart,
Subscriptions and Recurring Payments are some of tools from Paypal that you can use in Premier account but not in personal account.

If your users donīt want to pay with their credit card within PayPal and only want to pay with the funds they already have in PayPal, your personal account will be enough. However, you will not be able to accept credit card payments and I guess this is what your clients want to pay with.

I have registered a business account with PayPal, and did not have to pay a single cent :).

CH456,

It is free as far as i know, they just have special fee structure for it to receive the payment from your customers.

PayPal also has a monthly transaction volume per month, so if you're not doing many sales per month it will do, but eventually as your business grows, I'd go with the premier.

I have a Premier account, I don't remember that there is a monthly transaction volume per month other than the more payment you recieved, the low percentage of the transaction it becomes.

About half of our clients pay via PayPal, PayPal should definitely be an accepted method of payment for your web hosting services.
