Hi all!

Have any of you used, or currently use, ModernAuthorize? I've done some searching both here and on the ModernGigabyte forums and found very few reviews. I have also not had very much success finding any recent reviews.

It seems as though their "no monthly limit" $49 plan is very attractive, however I'm just skeptical of "gotchas". I sent a few tickets into their sales desk, and got very very vague responses. One such response dealt with the $199 "closure fee" applied if the account is closed in the first year, but in that same ticket the sales rep advised to just leave the account open, since there's no monthly minimums, and let the year expire if I chose not to use it again. That's all good and fine, it just seems a little odd he'd offer such advice.

The rates are a tad lower than 2Checkout, and it's a real merchant account, not a third-party.

Has anyone used them and have any feedback?

From what I've seen on the site, ModernGigabyte recently partnered with BluePay, a division of OnlineDataCorp.

In other words, ModernAuthorize is an affiliate for BluePay / OnlineDataCorp. Thus, you may want to search under those names for additional reviews or information.

In terms of a $199 closure fee - that is certainly something to try to get waived with any merchant provider if you can. Also be careful in case there is some kind of exclusivity clause in the fine print of the contract.

In other words, while there may not be any monthly minimum, if there is a closure/early termination fee in combination with an exclusivity clause, then technically you might be in breach of your agreement if you were to switch to an alternate provider at a later date.

I don't know if this is the case or not with that particular provider - just pointing out something to be careful of with any merchant agreement that you review.

Best of luck with your search!

Hey RichieCW - It really depends on what country you are located in and what option you are looking at with them. ModernAuthorize are partnered with multiple merchant account providers in order to offer accounts to numerous countries.

With that said, where are you/your business located?

RichieCW - Being that you are in the USA, I would strongly urge you to venture your future mouse clicks towards CDGCommerce.

They have special deals for WHT members: http://www.cdgcommerce.com/wht/

I also believe you'd be hard pressed to find much negative feedback on these forums about them - with plenty of positive feedback to support my recommendation.
