After using Google Adwords for quite a while and getting few signups in return, I decided to stop my campaign. Maybe this was a bad idea, but I figured the $150 a month price wasn't worth it. Since then, I've tried running AdBrite campaigns, but they're not massively helpful either. I've also put up a banner with incopath (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=377517) but I haven't gotten any signups through it yet. So, my question now is where does one advertise with a small budget, and what kind of keywords/demographics work best for attracting clients?

Thanks

Ian

We have had the same problem.

When we first started advertising we got very little success.

Generally speaking you do not get responses in the first three months of advertising in a magazine. Customers like to see a continuation, they like to know that you are not a over night host, it is only after about 5 months of marketing that we (in the last two weeks) are getting enquiries and a significant incrase in sign ups.

(This could be also to do with the fact that we are bringing more features online (including live sign up) I can see from your website that you already have those features.)

The main problems that we face is the lack of history we have, no negative feedback but no positive feedback either, and to many, no feedback at all may as well be negative feedback.

We have just kept advertising, as this has helped grow awareness of our brand and company image. There was not much choise, we have had to keep marketing ourselves, even if we were only getting a few customers, there are not many other choices.

It has slowly been picking up but only because we have spent a lot of money on awareness. Which is only now really paying off.

I am not sure if this is the case with any other company?

Best of luck :)

Their is alot of trial and error involved in advertising. I agree that company awareness and branding over the long run is a key. Good luck!

Look for places where a hosting company advertisment might be seen by yourself :)

Has anybody advertised here?

What sort of return did they get? Any enquiries?

This is such a saturated place, even though there are loads of users - there are hundreads of hosting companies. Any feedback?

Are you sure your site is SEO (optimized) and you have chosen the right keywords? This is important because without it you're basically throwing money away.

Look into this and check your content on your site to make sure it's well written and optimized.

Good luck.

I just went to your site and every aspect of your page is an image. Even text was made as an image. You need to change this. Your site isn't SEO. This is definately hurting your rankings. Like I stated above make sure you're targetting the right traffic to your site and your sales should increase.
