Hi All,

I am a newbie at all of this and starting my first business online selling workstation class computers bundled with cad programs for architects, engineers etc. In these fields it is common to have to send and receive relatively large files i.e 10mb through 50mb +/-. These files usually exceed the limit of an email service. I could get a better email service but then the client would have to do the same. I'm looking to provide a service through my website that would allow my customers the option to buy a service which enables them to transfer large files easily and securely. The basic concept is that they could log in to a secure account that provides them with some private hard drive space say 100mb. I would like it to be easy for them to upload their files (drag & drop if possible) & then the idea is that they can contact the intended recipient of the large file and provide them with the means to access / download the file. My client should be able to add password protected folders i.e MOE FOLDER, LARRY FOLDER & CURLY FOLDER so that only Moe can access the Moe folder, Larry can access the Larry folder & only Curly can access the Curly folder. Are there any pointers on how I could provide a service like or simiular to this? It would be preferable that the "recipient" would not have to download and install any software, just login and drag n drop if possible. Thanks All!

have you looked at the file managers in common control panels? directadmin and cpanel have file manager features

install an SSL cert, and they can upload via https browser connection

I will check into that as soon as I get/decide on a webhost. Thank you for your suggestions.
