I've been wondering, I saw the squaretrade seal thing. They say that it increases customer confidence and it brings more sales to your business, what are your thoughts about this?

Besides of SquareTrade what other seals are good?

There seems to be some interest in http://www.geekcertified.com/

Might be worth a look.

Id personally be more likely to buy from someone showing the paypal verified, squaretrade, or BBB seal etc...But Id also like them to link to a 3rd party that also verifies that seal is valid and not just an image

I think some seals could help give your potential customers some peace of mind but I firmly believe that if you have a professional looking website with some verifiable testimonials and a telephone number where people can call you up and ask questions(Which I believe is the most important) then a seal is probably not gonna do you much good.

Im not to worried about seeing any certifications on a web site. Like WCWS said, I just want to see that there are multiple ways of contacting this business.... i.e more than just an e-mail submit form

If I were to choose any cert, I would like to see BBB probably

I remeber the early days of the web when everyone had an awards logo to hand out to the best site or the prettiest banner ect. The only one who got anything out of these were the site owners of the awards as they got more traffic and made a bundle on advertising. Alot of these site seals are similar(Not All of Them) but I don't give them much merit.

They all make money in some way off of it even the bbb as they charge yearly fee's. #1 is making sure that you are easy to contact.. you should have a contact link on every page of your site. #2 make sure you have good standing with places like the bbb and chamber of commerce. Many people will look your company up on the bbb or local chamber weither you have it posted on your site or not. professional looking site is also a must.
