I an getting ready to launch a free hosting site.

How do I control my customers 404 pages?

What do you mean conrol them? You can not give them access to them and you can put your own customized error page in all of their accounts, if this is what you mean.

Yes that is. How do I do that? Does that work with modified versions of WHM if you are on a reseller plan or only with dedicated servers?

Well for starters you can make a feature list in whm and opt not to give them access to custom error pages. You can install your custom script in each account one at a time or if you have root access, I believe their is a way to do this, i just can't think of it off the top of my head. Maybe check with your host provider and see what they can do for you. Good luck!

Just did it

I contacted my host and they told me this was impossible. Just shows you how smart host gator employees are

If you are going into free hosting, get a dedicated server.

Don't expect to make lots off of this, many companies have tried free hosting but it just doesn't work out unless you have a new plan/idea
