I don't think there is anything you can do about a .com domain, anyone can register anything IceBlaZe 03-04-2002, 10:07 AM You can trademark domain names or something, dunno what the process is exactly but you can have a domain that will exclusively belong priority one to you before anyone else, even if someone else registered it. NicoV 03-04-2002, 11:16 AM I'll explain it for ya :) You can trademark a domain name, such as phpbb2. If i were going to develop a product called PHPBB2 and was planning on selling it, i would trademark that name, and if someone was to purchase the domain phpbb2 before i did, but after i trademarked the name, i could just take over the domain name from that other person. The rule is, that when registering domain names, you should always check to see if that name is trademarked, if it is, you could run into problems at some point of time if the company who trademarked the name wishes to launch a website about their product. |
