Hello,

I'm a fairly new member of this site (frequent stops in the recent past), and am currently looking into starting a webhosting business. I'm a ways from actually starting, but I am researching/learning various aspects pertaining to it for now. I was wondering if there are currently any members that are fellow West Virginians, or are familiar with West Virginia's business and tax laws, pertaining to e-commerce? I have checked our states website and haven't turned up any relevant information, and I have not reached the point where calling a local attorney to get information/assistance would be prudent. Just looking for some relevant information, from someone who is experienced with local laws/regualtions.

Thank You,
Eric

PopRawks,

I would highly recommend just going/calling the local government office and inquiring about this matter. Even if you do get some advise from someone who "supposively" has experience in this area it may/maynot pertain to your type of business. There are different ways you can register your business and each method is going to put you under different tax laws/etc. Best of luck with your new business.

I second that. If you are seriously looking into starting a business, then call someone who can give you the right information.

That is understood, and I definitely will take those steps before actually going into business. But as stated in my post I am not to that point yet and am just looking for some general information. I admit that I also had the alterior motive of possibly finding someone who knew a local attorney that would be more knowledgable. And I believe that there would be people on here with that knowledge simply because of WVU, I large university about 10 minutes from me, and a search of WHT has turned up one person who may still be a student there, but hasn't posted in a while, and another that i believe may HAVE been a student there but no longer is. So i'll levae the question standing.

Thank You for your advice, and be assured it does not fall on deaf ears.
