Registered my site with register.com. Their big firststepsite is junk (or at least, the themes sure are). I'd like to find another place to park it, preferably free, preferably at a site that'll let me paste up a splash page (not getting my hopes up on this part). Any ideas?

What you can do if you like is host the page on a free webspace provider (avoid any of the Geocities/Angelfire/Tripod/any other hosts that create popups or advertising, and they do exist.) Then use a free service called Domain Redirect (http://www.domainredirect.com) to point your domain to the splash page that you create. The only problem with this method is that the Domain Redirect service is not automatic and can take anywhere from two days to three weeks. (Hey, you get what you pay for right?)

mm, makes sense. just got a free site with f2s.com. they also have mysql and php so i can work on setting up a tforum. good for a start.

Let us know when it's up. I fully intend to flood your emailbox with numerous spams promoting crappy MLM pyramid network scams the second you try to promote it. :)
