I am planning to offer a support portal for my exisiting customers, but looking around to CMS, CRM, Php modules, intranet/extranet portal systems, membership portals, and modules and so on, I wasn't able to find anything even closer to my needs.

I am really going nuts.
I spend one week searching on google 5 hr per day, I took all the live demos, tutorials, free trials I still wasn't able to find anything closer to my needs. You name it I saw it.... :)

I need to have a portal to support and communicate and support my customers.
Seems pretty easy.
This portal need to have strong capabilities on personal coomunication (information to a single customer posted in the portal let's say on the welcome page, more than general info and notices to all customers).

Something where you can login, view your account, retireve and update your personal infos, review conditions, see general alerts, view your account history, as well as see alerts notices, news or info specifically designed for the single....
Just to give you an example a kind of Cpanel... but not specifically designed for hosting resellers.... :stickout:

The system should run on a safely connection (some sensible data will be stored on it) I am not considering some php-nuke post nuke and in general php written software.

If this system would even have classic features like ticket, knowledge Dbase, Faq's etc .etc. would be a really plus.

I am finally considering for a custom solution, but honestly I have not idea where to start from, and what kind of budget should I consider?

Hi Yose,
We have been using mambo for several of our clients and I must say that it is one of the best GPL products(Free to modify, use and distribute) available out there. It can do most of the requirements you've listed. You can find more about mambo at Mambo Server Main Site (http://mamboserver.com)
