Thats a good idea.. Hope you do well in the venture. I would suggest not laying out your business plan in a open forum next time though. :)

Don't take me the wrong way, but $400 is not very much for a project like this. If you got a quote from any reputable flash design company I'm sure it would be in the $8-10k range.

I agree,

A venture such as described above is a massive undertaking that no one in their right mind would even consider for $4-500. For $4,000-5,000 MAYBE, and even that's stretching it.

It seems as though these boards have become ineeddesignerswhowillworkfornexttonothing.com, Granted, not every one of us designers who frequent these boards is god's greatest gift to new media, but we are almost all professionals with solid knowledge of covetted skills and should therefor be treated as such. I think I speak for many of us when I say that we are past the "design for free to fill out our portfolio" phase. Most of us are designing as a primary or secondary source of income.

So to all of those out there posting job ops that sound something along the lines of "DESIGNER WANTED, WE NEED ENTIRE SITE WITH FLASH INTRO PREPARED TO OFFER $100", please understand something. We are for the most part, trained, qualified, and I'd like to think relatively skilled professionals. Times are hard right now, but expecting us to produce quality work for peanuts doesn't help anyone. Especially your business. I personally don't have much interest in becoming a "partner" or "affiliate" of any business that can't afford to pay a decent designer.

No personal offense intended to anyone, I'll repost this as a new topic, I just have noticed a growing trend of people expecting designers to promptly produce, high-quality products for almost criminally low rates and felt the need to point it out and maybe enlighten the culprits.

Guys if you read my initial message right you will see this:
And I am prepared to negotiate another price if you really want to put some time down to build something unique and many templates.

Anyway thanks to every one here for their comment, although I have found a major design and programming corporation who agreed to do the entire project for $1500 - $2000.

So this contest is CLOSED.
