i'm currently with aletia and have gotten tired of the lack of tech support. for the amount of money i can afford to pay (~$10/mo), should i just suck it up and stay with them or are there better alternatives out there?

i'd really appreciate it if anyone had some suggestions.

minimum requirements:
100mb
1.5 gig bandwidth
php/cgi/mysql
*nix server
domain pointer
multiple ftp accounts
pop3 email

thanks

That list will match with quite a few hosts, what else are you looking for? What kind of control panel, connection to internet, etc?

I think you should be able to find quite a few hosts to suit those features, with good tech support, at that price. :)

They have been great for us.

If you only need 1.5 GB bandwidth, you'll get tons of offer for $10 :)
I suggest to not look only on the price, quality worth.

well other than what i specified, a company that is established and with a good reputation would be nice.

specific suggestions? other than a general "yup, they're out there."

thanks.

Herewego,

I just read that http://downtownhost.com. is very helpful and available for the customers. http://webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=35600

Dan at http://serve-you.net is a friend at another forum, and I believe he is also very helpful and care for his customers.

And the list is still long :)

You should have any difficulty finding a good host to match your specs. Before signing up, I recommend sending an email to support@HostingCompany (if available), and if they do not reply within a couple of hours, I would take that as a warning sign.

Sorry for jump here, but I want to clarify that Carm is not our customer, she asked for help in a thread and I offered to do it, just that :)
