I have had 2 RAQ's for a while now, and I always use ADMIN to FTP around the sites... this way I can mod any site I want and not have to remember numerous login and passwords.

However, I went to create a directory in a site today and it says 550 Permission denied. it does this in any folder other than the admin folder.

The support guy says I shouldn't have been able to do this anyway, but i don't see why not, and my other server does it fine.

Any ideas why this has happened?... Have I been hacked?... how can I reset the admin permissions from SU'ing to root?

Thanx in advance.

How many sites do you have?

What number of site is this?

Linux only allows you (admin) to be in 25 or 30 groups (somewhere in there).

So after you get a lot of sites, then you must use either root or setup up another account to manage sites 25-50,51-75, etc. or whatever the cut-off value is.
