View Full Version : Should I be concerned about this order?

Someone ordered our $9.95 a month personal web hosting package a couple of hours ago. He selected to pay monthly.

Everything about this order seems just fine. The IP address is also in the US, just like his address, phone number is fine, etc..

However, instead of a name he just entered a number, which looks somewhat like a toll free number. His credit card was verified and successfully processed by 2Checkout.

Now my question is... Should I be worried about this order?

I'd say that in all probability, he misread the form field. If I were you, though, I'd give him a call.

Hi,
if he provide a phone number try to call that number and ask them if they did the order.
if so, ask the person who made the order about his/her name, its better to have the customer name ...:)
Good Luck

yea, i would say he misread the form, it would be weird for him to give a real number, with a stolen C/C ... give em a call!

How was the CC verified? Any sort of address verification? or just Number + Expiration? I'd call them up.

2Checkout does address verification, AFAIK. Anyway I think you are right -- he must have mixed up the form fields, as the toll free number he entered instead of his name is his banks number.

The order looks very genuine anyway, as someone using a stolen card wouldn't pay monthly, and probably would go for the most expensive plan instead of the cheapest. Not to mention that his address is real, and his IP address matches his location -- both are in the US.

I'll probably still give him a call though, just to be safe. ;)
