Hey! I have trolled WTH to find info on Intermedia.net. Instead, I got tons of info on ***** - every host question seems to devolve ino ***** discussions. Whoever this guy is, he is getting tons of publicity.
Anyway, someone told me to use InterMedia.net. Can anyone give me info on this?
Just the basics - I am setting up a site that uses MS SQL.
Thanks.

I don't see anything about bandwidth on their shared hosting page, which isn't good.

Bandwith info is buried in their Service Level Agreement and states in part: "Shared servers are configured to serve up to 5 GB of data transfer per month. Exceeding 5GB without prior notifying the Company in writing will result in immediate termination of this agreement by the Company. "

This seems like a VERY backwards way of doing business!!! I guess they don't really like having customers. Getting rid of a customer for going over 5 GB?? Why not just suspend their account?
I'd look harder!!

I used Intermedia.net for nearly three years as a reseller (I do not resell for them anymore) and while they are pricey, they were very stable, and very quick with customer support.
There control panel is by far the most functional, amd complete of any Windows based host that I have seen.
I will honestly say that the reason I left is that they imposed such low bandwidth limits, and when asked they did not satisfy me with alternatives if a customer went over the limit.
Overall, I enjoyed the time that I hosted their but it just didn't pan out they way I would have wanted.
Hope this helps you.

Than what do you advise I do? I am starting a small business that will have MS SQL databases and I need a service that can provide a decent amount of badwidth with the option to expand the bandwidth as my site gets more popular.
Any suggestions about who fits the bill?

I am not sure if you need a windows-based host or not, but I have found MySql is a lot better than Ms Sql. I would recommend www.bluecityhosts.net if you can use mysql. My inbox must have 30 emails from them helping me out, and they are all really fast. They use CPanel which I like better than Plesk (the only other one I have used).

I am using MS SQL because that is what my architect knows (I know, that is a pathetic reason). Why is MySQL better? Is it easier to use, more reliable,...?
