When you send email thought ISP outgoing mail server. Most ISP limit thier SMTP accepted message size around 0.8-2.0 MByte.
I configure my qmail SMTP so that all message delivered to my hosting customers beyond 2MB can't pass it since I've been suggested that email is not designed for sending large files , anybody know why ?
Yet some ISP are irresponsible. They allow unlimited outgoing message size to the internet . If someone send 5 MB files through these ISP to my hosing customers , the message will be rejected by my machine . It's likely that my customers will end up angry if they've been notified by sender that the message was rejected or not delivered (message lost) .
Should I continue limit SMTP message size ?
